Our Favorite Pieces From Director Luca Guadagnino and Architect Stefano Baisi’s Sleek Zara Home Collection

Their vision manifests as a highly polished collection—the pieces are sharp, angular, and hard, just like impeccable tailoring—that Guadagnino describes as “a constellation of objects, rooms, parallel worlds.” Stainless steel chairs and oak coffee tables with high-gloss lacquered tops are slick and cool and the Elsewhere table lamp, with its thin, arching steel neck and triangular shade, feels practically space-age. Even the upholstered pieces have great posture: The scallop-backed Bretonita sofa, in hunter-green flannel with burgundy cord piping, looks stately and sturdy; the Uncollected sofa sits lower and longer, with a dramatic black velvet cushion and sycamore base.

“What is exciting about this project is that the same object can now enter very different homes and become part of completely different lives,” says Baisi. “In a way, the collection can exist across many parallel worlds at the same time.”

To celebrate the launch, Guadagnino directed a short film written by Scott Z. Burns, starring Jamie Bell, Chase Sui Wonders, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Patricia Arquette. With Baisi’s set design, of course. The collection will also be presented at a two-day public pop-up at La Pelota in Milan on September 26 and 27, during Milan Fashion Week.
