Lume Traveler has taken one of the bulkiest parts of a caravan interior and pushed it outside. Its new Ranger places the kitchen in a pull-out module along the body, turning food prep into an outdoor act and giving the compact cabin more room to breathe. The aluminum trailer measures 5.19 meters long including its drawbar and just over two meters wide, with an empty weight of 1,150 kilograms.
That move sets up the whole plan. A fixed Auping queen bed fills the rear, while an enclosed bathroom and a small seating area fit into the remaining interior. Designed for two people, the Ranger also gains a pop-up roof that lifts once parked, opening up the low-profile cabin overhead.

silver outside, softer inside
From outside, the Ranger keeps the silver aluminum skin and rounded body familiar across Lume Traveler’s collection. Inside, the finish shifts toward warmer surfaces. Teak runs underfoot while wool felt wraps the walls and ceiling. Leather appears in smaller details, bringing a more tactile feel to a space where nearly every surface sits within reach.
The bed stays fixed instead of folding away between uses, which gives the rear of the caravan the feel of a tiny bedroom. Storage is tucked into the shell, while power and USB outlets are distributed through the interior. The pop-up roof keeps the trailer low on the road, then changes the volume of the room once the Ranger is set up for a stay.

The outdoor kitchen is the Ranger’s clearest spatial decision. Slide it out and the side of the caravan becomes a work zone, with a countertop and sink alongside two gas burners facing the campsite. Cooking moves into the landscape around the trailer to leave the interior largely given over to sleeping and sitting.
That split shapes how the Ranger is used once it leaves the road. The roof rises above while the kitchen extends from the side, so the compact aluminum shell becomes only one part of the occupied space. An optional awning can cover the exterior cooking area, while an outside shower can add a second service point beyond the body.

Lume trims down its caravan
At 1,150 kilograms empty and 1,500 kilograms at its authorized maximum, the Ranger is Lume Traveler’s lightest model. The company says it can be paired with electric cars rated to tow at least 1,500 kilograms. At 2.04 meters wide, its dimensions also keep the body fairly compact for a trailer containing a permanent bed and enclosed bathroom.
Seen as a whole, the Ranger is built around a fairly simple exchange: move one major function outdoors and the cabin gains space where it is most useful. Its silver body still reads immediately as a caravan, while the plan depends on the landscape around it becoming part of the room. For a trailer this small, that one move changes quite a lot.
