In 2024, Oscar winner Angelina Jolie told the Hollywood Reporter she planned to leave Los Angeles after her twins—the youngest of her six children—turned 18. That day arrived this summer, which left the actor with a sprawling LA pad to offload. She listed the compound in May for just under $30 million, and now, per Mansion Global, it’s been sold for $24.75 million.
It’s no wonder what inspired the star to drop $24.5 million on the manse in 2017; it was previously owned by Cecil B. DeMille, the legendary filmmaker often considered one of Hollywood’s founding fathers.
The property’s 11,000-square-foot main residence, six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, gym, and library made it ideal for Jolie and her big family. There’s no shortage of alluring details, between the wine cellar and the primary suite’s private patio with unmatched views of the Hollywood Hills and Griffith Observatory. But Jolie’s favorite space was the library. In 2021, British Vogue photographed the star at home and got the scoop on her favorite features. “I love most that there is no entertainment room, but lots of pathways and places to walk and think,” she said.
The abode sits on the highest point in Los Feliz’s gated Laughlin Park neighborhood and is surrounded by trees and rose gardens. There’s also a guest house, a pool and pool house, a tea house, and a hidden treehouse. A separate garage and security station are also found on the grounds.
Architect B. Cooper Corbett designed the dwelling in 1916, and DeMille bought it in the ’20s. After actor Charlie Chaplin moved out of the residence next door, DeMille bought the neighboring home and combined the two with a glass conservatory. The manse was still under the ownership of the DeMille family when it was featured in AD in 1987.

As for where Jolie is headed, she told The Hollywood Reporter she wanted to travel in Cambodia, where she bought a home after adopting her oldest son, Maddox. “I’ll spend time visiting my family members wherever they may be in the world,” Jolie said.
The home’s buyer has not yet been named.
